Itron ships 1+ mill SENTINEL meters in less than five years

Liberty Lake, WA, Jan. 3, 2008 — Itron Inc. announced that it has shipped more than 1 million SENTINEL solid-state commercial & industrial (C&I) meters. Additionally, shipments in 2007 for the SENTINEL meter were 15 percent higher than 2006.

The SENTINEL is a solid-state, poly-phase meter that was designed for C&I customers. The SENTINEL was introduced five years ago and replaced the VECTRON.

The SENTINEL features load profile read/energy usage retrieval; register and billing reads; load profile near term interval read; power outage and power restoration alarms; meter diagnostics alerts and meter clock monitoring and correction, and other functions.
