Landis+Gyr wins contract from India power distribution company

Landis+Gyr secured a contract in India for more than one million digital meters from utility WBSEDCL, which is the public utility responsible for power distribution in the state of West Bengal and is headquartered at Kolkata.


WBSEDCL is a distribution utility in India and has been replacing its electric meters since 2009. This order is intended for this ongoing grid modernization and electrification efforts. The utility supplies 96 percent of power in the state of West Bengal, including parts of city of Kolkata.

Landis+Gyr won the order after having successful met the delivery schedule for the earlier 1.5 million meter order received and delivered in 2013. Landis+Gyr have supplied a total of 3.5 million meters to WBSEDCL in last 5 years.
