Memphis Light, Gas and Water picks Elster AMI

Memphis Light, Gas and Water (MLGW) selected Elster Solutions’ EnergyAxis Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) and EIServer Meter Data Management systems for the first phase of their smart meter deployment.

The first phase encompasses about 60,000 electric, gas and water endpoints and should be completed by the end of 2014.

EnergyAxis enables meter data collection, analysis, reporting and network management for all three services using a single head-end system. This simplifies system management, and reduces the total cost of ownership.

Memphis will be one of the first utilities to enjoy the advantages of Elster’s new grid performance system including the ease of use and convenient task management enabled by the CallistoUX (User Experience) engine and the cost-effective ability to grow system capabilities with stackable answers from Elster and its partners.

Elster has more than 110 active EnergyAxis deployments worldwide, including 65 in the US, 11 of which are in the Tennessee Valley.
