Silver Spring Networks tailors smart grid tech for Brazilian market

Rio de Janeiro and Redwood City, Calif., October 23, 2012 — In advance of the SENDI Brazil 2012 Conference, Silver Spring Networks, a networking platform and solutions provider for smart energy networks, unveiled new smart grid offerings for the Brazilian market, spanning the full range of utilities’ customers from residential to Grupo A clients.

Silver Spring’s open, IPv6-based networking platform has connected more than 12 million homes and businesses worldwide and enables utilities of all sizes and across all geographies to deploy the broadest array of smart grid applications atop a common platform.

As part of the Silver Spring Partner Program, Silver Spring has integrated its standards-based communications solutions into the Elster A3 RBR, Itron SL7000, Landis+Gyr E-series residential metering family, and Nansen’s Spectrum M and Spectrum K residential metering family that are each tailored to AMI solutions specifically designed for Brazilian utilities.

These solutions enable Brazilian utilities to not only meet the requirements of the recently published ANEEL mandate but to also unlock more ROI from their existing smart grid investments.
