Opower utility partners save more than 8 terawatt hours of electric power

Opower‘s energy efficiency technology platform has saved over eight terawatt-hours (TWh) of energy across nearly 100 utility deployments worldwide.

Opower has continued to invest in its technology platform to drive greater outcomes at scale for utilities and their customers. Saving eight TWh’s is equivalent to:

·      More than $1 billion in bill savings for utility customers;

·      Taking more than 1.1 million cars off the road for a year; and

·      The energy needed to power all the homes in New Mexico or Rome for a year.

Some of Opower’s largest energy saving programs include Pacific Gas & Electric, ComEd and National Grid Massachusetts. In the last twelve months alone, Opower and its partners have saved three TWh’s of energy – more than twice as much energy as America’s largest residential solar company produced over the same time period.

Opower’s utility programs have been deployed by more than 95 utilities worldwide and reach more than 50 million homes and businesses. Opower provides the industry’s leading customer engagement platform, designed specifically to support utility demand-side management and customer care initiatives. Opower’s software delivers a range of benefits for utilities, including cost-effective energy efficiency savings, daily and seasonal peak reductions, increased customer satisfaction and engagement, and lower cost-to-serve.
