POWERGRID_INTERNATIONAL Volume 15 Issue 20
The smart grid concept powers up imaginations around the world—and not just inside the T&D industry. The cultural phenomenon of smart grid touches everyone from presidents to preschoolers. There are articles and documentaries on the subject. There are entire magazines and conferences on the topic. But, why stop there? Why stop with just the confined concept of a smart grid?
In just a few weeks, I, along with many others from PennWell, will travel to Tampa, Fla., for the 20th DistribuTECH Conference and Exhibition. As the conference planning committee chairperson for the event, I can confidently say that the committee members have developed a conference program second to none. If you’re interested in anything related to the electricity grid, DistribuTECH is the event for you. In addition to attending the conference, attendees will also have access to our largest ever exhibit floor, which will showcase the products and services of more than 300 exhibiting companies. You can learn more about DistribuTECH 2010 in the preview article beginning on page 18. Make plans to join us in Tampa on March 23-25.

In 2010, DistribuTECH celebrates a milestone—a 20th anniversary. Running March 23-25, 2009, at the Tampa Convention Center, DistribuTECH covers the smart grid, automation and control systems, energy efficiency, engineering, demand response, renewables integration, power delivery equipment and water utility technology. With two decades behind it, DistribuTECH knew the grid before it was smart, and it continues to lead the way in information exchange and utility education. From instructional Utility University courses to experts delivering the latest industry details, DistribuTECH will bring a lot of experience to Florida in March.
