Servana will partner with Southern Union Gas (SUG) to offer Internet Bill Payment and Presentment (IBPP) services to SUG's Texas customers, allowing them to view accounts online and pay bills via the Internet. Jackson County is the possible site for construction of a simple-cycle combustion turbine peaking power plant by Georgia Power, a subsidiary of Southern Company. Consisting of separate generating units, a minimum of five units (total of 400 MW) are scheduled for completion by the summer of 2000.
