In May 2020, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) took action to make six MHz of low-band spectrum available for the development of critical wireless broadband technologies and services. This long-awaited proposal aims to modernize the 900 MHz spectrum band so utilities can deploy private, secure LTE networks across their infrastructure to enhance grid cybersecurity and modernize the aging power grid.
Ameren is one of a handful of utilities that have been piloting private LTE networks using the 900 MHz spectrum. Through its pilots, the utility has identified 14 different use cases for the spectrum. A representative from Ameren will present these 14 use cases in this webcast and explain what they learned in their trials.
In addition, Kreg Christoff from Motorola will explain how its new technology helps capture, analyze and share actionable data that utilities need to ensure reliability and safety.
