Analyst: New York could experience California-type energy shortages

According to George Knapp, head of the energy practice group at Coudert Brothers who has extensive Federal regulatory and private sector utility industry expertise, New Yorkers are in danger of experiencing the energy shortages and higher costs currently facing Californians, unless new investments in facilities and transmission lines are made.

TULSA, Okla., Jan. 29, 2001 (PRNewswire) – Based on a decision to sell the Solutions unit of Williams Communications Group, Inc. (NYSE: WCG), Williams (NYSE: WMB) said today it will delay its year-end earnings report until Feb. 5 in order to reflect that business unit as discontinued operations.
