Bookout at the border

The California Power Exchange (CalPX) now offers a voluntary bookout energy delivery scheduling option designed to lower the cost of purchasing energy at state border tie-points.

With this process, CalPX only submits to Cal-ISO electricity delivery schedules using the ISO`s control grid.

The energy schedules matched by the bookout option are then scheduled for transmission outside the ISO`s control grid. This can eliminate export-based charges ranging from $3 to $7/MWh when energy purchases are matched with energy sales at the same transmission system tie-point.
