Birmingham, Alabama and Bristol, Virginia, September 18, 2002 — Newmark International, Inc. and Strongwell Corporation announce the formation of a strategic alliance for the manufacturing, engineering and sales of fiber reinforced polymer (FRP) transmission poles.
Strongwell’s patented SE 28 FRP poles are produced by a process involving pultruded panels with reinforcing ribs. These panels are cut into interlocking sections that fit together to make tapered FRP transmission poles in lengths up to eighty feet to satisfy Class 1 pole requirements.
Newmark International, Inc., headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama, will work with Strongwell in the future design and testing of Strongwell’s tapered FRP transmission pole. Newmark will also be responsible for the promotion, marketing, sales, and the installation and applications-related engineering of Strongwell’s transmission poles.
