Cooper Power systems helps We Energies provide power

Waukesha, Wis., March 12, 2010 — Cooper Power Systems, a division of Cooper Industries, Ltd., signed a contract to supply We Energies with a large majority of the Wisconsin-based utility’s electrical transformer product needs through 2014. Terms of the agreement were not disclosed.

“This agreement represents joint financial commitments from two major Wisconsin-based employers to help advance the economy of the state,” said Cooper Power Systems group president, Mike Stoessl.

Stoessl said that the agreement to supply We Energies with single-phase pole-mounted transformers, single-phase pad-mounted transformers and three-phase pad-mounted transformers is “not only good for our business, but special for our employees, many of whom are We Energies customers.”

Cooper Power Systems employs nearly 2,200 people at facilities throughout Southeastern Wisconsin. We Energies has about 4,800 employees throughout its Southeastern Wisconsin and Upper Michigan service area.

We Energies serves more than 1.1 million electric customers in Wisconsin and Michigan’s Upper Peninsula and more than 1 million natural gas customers in Wisconsin.

We Energies is the trade name of Wisconsin Electric Power Company and Wisconsin Gas LLC, the principal utility units of Wisconsin Energy Corp.

Cooper Industries plc is a global manufacturer with 2009 revenues of $5.1 billion, about 89 percent of which are from electrical products.
