EPRI announces six members of board of directors

Palo Alto, Calif., August 3, 2011 — The board of directors of the Electric Power Research Institute announced that, effective August 1, James Kerr II, and John Bohn have been elected to 4-year terms on the board.

Kerr is a partner with McGuireWoods LLP and former commissioner on the North Carolina Utilities Commission. Bohn is a former commissioner of the California Public Utilities Commission.

Also elected were Benjamin Fowke III, president and CEO or COO of Xcel Energy, Jong-shin Kim, CEO of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power; W. Terry Boston, president and CEO of PJM, and, James Lash, president and chief nuclear officer of First Energy Generation.

“These individuals bring to our board the experience and perspective of a respected regulators and utility leadership,” said Michael W. Howard, president and chief executive officer of EPRI. “These qualities give them a keen appreciation for both the challenges facing the utility industry and the public benefits of affordable, reliable, clean and sustainable electricity.”
