Exacter forms alliance with PAR Electrical Contractors

Columbus, Ohio, June 2, 2010 — Exacter, Inc. formed an alliance with PAR Electrical Contractors, a Quanta Services company, to bring a broader scope of services to utility, municipal and cooperative customers.

Under the agreement, Exacter will leverage PAR’s resources to help deliver turnkey reliability inspection services utilizing Exacter’s patented technology.

In addition, certain PAR employees will receive training from Exacter on the use of its exclusive technology and operational process that helps identify failing electric power transmission and distribution infrastructure and, thus, helps utilities to more proactively maintain their power system and better allocate resources.

The Exacter system can provide early warning of failing overhead transmission and distribution components such as transformers, regulators, insulators, cutouts and surge arrestors, and can detect other reliability issues utilizing advanced sensor-array technology. Geospatial mapping provides location data to help prioritize maintenance and avoid outages.

“The alliance with PAR expands the reach of our service offering,” said John Lauletta, Exacter CEO and president. “Our technology identifies and locates system weaknesses. PAR is a nationwide service provider capable of performing the inspection and repair services required to make our offering a total turnkey solution. It is a logical combination.”

“Exacter’s patented technology has the potential to support our utility customers’ goal of improving reliability,” states Ron Bond, vice president of PAR. “Identifying system weaknesses before a failure occurs can help utilities be more proactive with the maintenance of their transmission and distribution systems and reduce outages, which has the potential to improve power reliability.”

“For Exacter, the alliance with PAR closes the loop for total turnkey location and repair of overhead systems,” said Exacter vice president Geoffrey Bibo. “This alliance enables PAR to provide predictive technology and condition-based maintenance services, which are becoming best practices.”

PAR Electrical Contractors, Inc., a Quanta Services company, is a nationwide electrical contractor specializing in the management, engineering and construction of high-voltage transmission and distribution lines, substations, as well as emergency restoration services.

Exacter has served more than 100 utilities and surveyed over two million poles.
