Firm looks to build $1 billion gas plant in Michigan

Maryland-based Competitive Power Ventures wants to build a $1 billion natural gas-fired power plant in Handy Township, Michigan.

CPV’s proposed power plant would be built on about 145 acres of farmland near the ITC transmission corridor and two natural gas pipelines, according to the Livingston Daily.

The plant would generate about 600 MW and take about three years to build once construction plans are finalized.

CPV also has natural gas power plants under construction in Pennsylvania, Connecticut and New York.
