Florida electric co-op begins transmission system ‘looping’

A looped electrical system allows two sources to provide electricity into substations, instead of one. “This increases reliability, because if one source of power is lost, the looped system will utilize the other source and automatically route power around the problem area without a loss of power to customers,” LCEC Director of Electric Operations Bill Hetherington said.
