G&W expands manufacturing facility, headquarters

Bolingbrook, Ill., June 12, 2012 — G&W Electric Co., a supplier of power automation systems, switchgear and cable accessories, recently dedicated their new global headquarters and manufacturing facility in Bolingbrook, Illinois.

“This facility marks the start of a new era for G&W, providing the room we need for our continued growth and a safe and comfortable working environment for our 400+ Illinois based employees”, said John H. Mueller, chairman. A long time native to the Chicago area, the family owned, 107-year-old company moved from Blue Island, Ill. where it resided for over 50 years.

“The new facility is more than double the size of our previous Blue Island manufacturing operation and gives us the room we need to support our growing customer base, continue our R&D efforts, improve order lead times and maximize product quality,” he said.

G&W Electric has been a supplier of electric power equipment since 1905. The company’s product offerings include overhead and underground distribution switches, Lazer Automation solutions, reclosers, distribution and transmission cable accessories, and current limiting system protection devices.
