In Southeast U.S., 330,000 lose power in ice storms

Some 330,000 electric customers were hit by power outages in the Southeastern states of the U.S. February 12 as snow and ice storms hit the region.

The hardest hit states so far are Georgia, North and South Carolina, Louisiana and Mississippi.

The storm was expected to move into the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast states later February 12 and February 13, dropping up to a foot of snow in some places, including Washington, Philadelphia and New York.
