Largest-ever DistribuTECH attracts 11,773 attendees

PennWell Corp.’s DistribuTECH Conference & Exhibition with sister events Utility Products Expo and the Electric Light & Power Executive Conference together drew 11,773 attendees for a record-shattering 25th anniversary event.

DistribuTECH kicked off Tuesday, Feb. 3 with an opening keynote session emceed by POWERGRID International Editor in Chief and DistribuTECH Chairwoman Teresa Hansen. The keynote featured presentations from theoretical physicist Michio Kaku; San Diego Gas & Electric CEO Jeffrey Martin; and Edison International Chairman, President and CEO Theodore “Ted” F. Craver Jr.

The standing room-only keynote drew an audience of more than 2,500 and set the stage for the three-day event that attracted representatives from more than 300 utilities worldwide.

DistribuTECH featured 26 Utility University workshops, networking events, 81 conference sessions in 15 tracks, a combined exhibition with Utility Products of more than 480 companies, two co-located events and activities and educational content specific to power delivery and water utility technologies.

Next year DistribuTECH will be Feb. 9-11, 2016, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Florida.
