LCRA and AEP to build new transmission lines in Texas

HOUSTON, May 24, 2001American Electric Power Co. and the Lower Colorado River Authority agreed to invest up to $500 million in new transmission projects in the Texas market over the next 5 years.

HARRISBURG, Pa., May 24, 2001 – John Hanger, President and CEO of Citizens for Pennsylvania’s Future (PennFuture) today expressed both disappointment and relief in the decision by the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission (PUC) to approve the proposed GPU/FirstEnergy merger.
