Madison Gas and Electric signs contract with GeoSpatial Innovations

Madison Gas and Electric (MG&E) has chosen GeoSpatial Innovations Inc. (GSI) Forester Vegetation Management Software as the foundational technology to improve and reorganize its vegetation management program.

GSI Forester provides MG&E tools to manage its entire vegetation management process within one software application. MG&E personnel use GSI Forester to organize trim cycles and yearly work activities, generate management and customer reports, and report work and equipment usage for field planners and trimming crews.

“We are thrilled that MG&E has entrusted GSI as a key partner for vegetation management. This 5-year contract is a commitment of both companies to work closely together to streamline and optimize vegetation management for the benefit of MG&E customers, employees, and shareholders.” stated Lisa Livingood, President and CEO of GSI. “GSI’s cloud-based Forester software allows utilities of all sizes – from major investor-owned utilities to rural cooperatives – to make significant improvements in their vegetation management operations in a matter of weeks.”

According to Cathy Brodbeck, Construction and Operations Coordinator at MG&E, “Integrating with existing systems is important to MG&E to improve efficiency. GSI has developed [GSI] Forester to seamlessly integrate with our GIS which allows us to transform our VM Program from a world of paper to a digital cloud-based solution.”
