Self-locking Portable Lift System

Enerpac

Enerpac’s Pow’r-Lock portable lift system is the industry’s only self-contained, self-locking lift system with a rated capacity of 200 tons. With full-time, automatic load-holding protection through all stages of lifting and lowering, the system requires no operator intervention to activate its locking system. Designed with a patent-pending control system that maintains the position of a rotating locking collar near the cylinder base, the system provides a mechanical lock regardless of cylinder movement. This control system ensures safe and secure lifting for off-highway machinery, including trucks, tractors and other heavy machinery. The system is available in two versions with strokes of 14 inches or 25 inches (356 mm and 622 mm). To comply with industry safety regulations, the system conforms to ANSI-ASME, EU and AS/NZS standards.

Serial Data Link for Substations

ComNet Communication Networks

ComNet Communication Networks expands its Reliance line with the RLFDX Series of substation-rated fiber-optic RS-232, RS-422, RS-485 2/4 Wire and TTL Logic Data Link/Repeater. The products are made in the U.S. and are a direct replacement for the Garrettcom/Dymec5800 series of serial data over optical fiber products. The ComNet Reliance RLFDX links are used in electric utility substations and switchyards, manufacturing plants, roadside/trackside equipment installations and where other severe-duty conditions are encountered. The series extends transmission distances optically and can transmit serial data up to 30 kilometers. A secondary benefit is a high level of electrical isolation plus enhanced reliability and protection for peripheral IEDs, RTUs and other equipment.

Service Disconnect Adapter

Tesco

Tesco’s Service Disconnect Adapter (Catalog No. 251) disconnects customer load while maintaining power to the meter. The meter continues reading and communicating for automatic meter reading/advanced metering infrastructure operations while disabling service on the load side. For utilities that do not want to maintain power to the meter, Tesco also offers a nonenergized version (Catalog No. 252). The disconnect adapters are constructed of UV-stabilized plastic, fiberglass-reinforced polycarbonate and have a UL-94-5VA flame rating.

Intelligent Loop Automation

Schneider Electric

Schneider Electric’s Intelligent Loop Automation solution is composed of a certified set of architectures and configurations to manage fault location, isolation and service restoration (FLISR) automatically on distribution feeders in response to network conditions, including faults, outages and load imbalances. Tested by Schneider Electric’s engineers, Intelligent Loop Automation reduces outage restoration time and costs, improves customer satisfaction and makes field crews more efficient. Supported by Schneider Electric’s U.S. Energy Applications Center (EAC), utilities can deploy switchable devices, control units and RTUs with a Loop Automation configuration that is tailored to their supply feeders. Once activated, the loop automation scheme minimizes the customer impact of outages on the local feeder network. When a fault occurs, the system automatically opens switches on either side of the faulted segment to isolate the fault and restore service to unaffected segments in less than one minute. The solution segregates the fault to a minimal network area, helping field crews find the exact location of the fault quickly and minimize restoration time.
