Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories Inc.’s (SEL’s) SEL-3360S Compact Industrial Computer is designed for extreme environments and small spaces. It features powerful Intel Core i7 dual- and quad-core processors, supports two solid-state 2.5-inch SATA drives and RAID configurations and uses single-level cell NAND flash. Up to 16 GB of error-correcting code RAM provides ample memory for demanding applications. The SEL-3360S operates reliably in environments ranging from minus 40 to 167 F with no fans or forced airflow. Built and tested to utility substation standards, the SEL-3360S will withstand up to 15 kV of electrostatic discharge, high electromagnetic interference and shock up to 15 g. SEL backs its products with a 10-year, no-questions-asked, worldwide warranty. The SEL-3360S is cUL certified, has the CE mark (also referred to as the EC mark) and is SEL’s first RoHS-compliant computer product.

Low-voltage Switchgear Technology
Eaton’s low-voltage switchgear technology is designed to extend type 2B arc-resistant ratings with the instrument and breaker secondary door open. Providing centralized control and protection for low-voltage power distribution equipment, the new switchgear improves uptime for data center, oil and gas, mining, utility and other mission-critical industrial applications. The new switchgear design allows access to the control switch and indicator lights on the breaker secondary doors without opening the main breaker door. This design has been made available for front- and rear-access, arc-resistant, low-voltage switchgear to help customers minimize the footprint of electrical distribution equipment while maintaining high safety standards. In compliance with the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 70E standard, and as defined by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) C37.20.7 standard, the arc-resistant low-voltage switchgear carries a hazard risk category of zero for circuit breaker operation with doors closed and latched. The switchgear also meets National Electrical Manufacturing Association (NEMA) and Canadian Standards Association (CSA) standards.
Portable Dissolved Gas Analyzer
Doble Engineering Co., a subsidiary of ESCO Technologies Inc., recently released the Delphi Portable, a fast, accurate and reliable dissolved gas analyzer for power transformers. It offers detailed data analysis in the field, complementing the standard Delphi, which is an online monitor that provides a “check engine light” approach. For use in routine and emergency testing, the Delphi Portable takes dissolved gas analysis (DGA) readings in 30 minutes or less, sharing actionable information on seven key diagnostic gases and moisture in insulating oil. The new device uses patented photo-acoustic cantilever technology for accuracy and repeatability. The Delphi Portable identifies faults by measuring composite gas levels. The tool combines traditional DGA and Doble’s unique Dissolved Gas Anomaly Indication system (DG-AI) to identify results that need further attention. Users benefit from an easy-to-operate interface within the device and its built-in printer for hard copy results.

NOJA Power’s enhanced ground-mount kiosk takes advantage of the OSM 310 series 15- and 27-kV Automatic Circuit Reclosers’ direct cable connection, resulting in a more compact kiosk. The new kiosk houses a NOJA Power OSM series ACR, together with an RC10 control and communication cubicle. The kiosk has a set of doors at each end, allowing immediate access to the ACR or the RC10 cubicle. Elimination of the earth switch, busbars and cable-connection bulkhead has reduced the size of the ground-mount kiosk from 1,800 x 1,250 x 1,600 millimeters to 1,000 x 1,200 x 1,300 millimeters. The volume of the original kiosk measured 3.6 cubic meters while the new product measures 1.55 cubic meters for a volumetric reduction of 57 percent.
