Scottish Power selects PAS to improve automation at power generation sites

Houston, January 20, 2010 — Scottish Power selected PAS to provide comprehensive alarm management and control performance software and services to improve the operations of twelve sites comprising natural gas-fired, coal-fired, and hydroelectric power generation stations.

Under the contract, PAS engineers will assess the performance of alarm management systems and control loops, and develop improvement plans for each individual plant.

PAS will also install its PlantState Suite software at all sites, which will provide comprehensive alarm management and control performance functionality to facilitate the assessment, and improve the performance, of their systems.

Upon completion of the project, Scottish Power will continue to use PlantState Suite to monitor and sustain the improvements.

PAS improves the automation and operational effectiveness of power and process plants worldwide by aggregating, contextualizing and simplifying relevant information and making it universally accessible and useful.

The company’s portfolio includes solutions for alarm management, automation genome mapping, control loop performance optimization, and High-Performance Human-Machine Interfaces. PAS solutions are installed in over 1000 industrial plants worldwide.
