Survalent commissions SCADA system for Innisfil Hydro, Ontario

Survalent Technology, the most trusted provider of smart grid solutions for the control room, announced today that it has commissioned a new Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) system for Innisfil Hydro, Ontario.

Innisfil Hydro operates nine substations, each with an incoming voltage of 44,000 volts. There are more than 326 miles of high voltage lines under the company’s jurisdiction, covering the 111 square mile service area.

The new system features Survalent’s open-architecture system based on Windows Server 2008. It includes several of Survalent’s open system applications, including: WorldView, SCADA Explorer, IED Wizard and Control Panel, Event Data Recording, Operations and Outages Accounting, SCADA Add-In, Remote Alarm Annunciation, System Configuration Status, and SmartVU.

“We are pleased to add Innisfil Hydro to our growing number of SCADA customers,” states Paul Stirpe, Vice President of Sales for Canada. “Innisfil selected Survalent for their SCADA system to take advantage of our ease of use applications, solid system reliability and the ability to integrate with other systems. This is the first step to help Innisfil support further smart grid advancements to FDIR and OMS applications and functionality.”
