Transmission tower testing center opens in Texas

Sabre Industries Inc. and Brametal opened a new transmission tower testing facility that the company developed with, dubbed Sabre/Brametal Testing Services.

The facility is located on Sabre Industries’ 147 acre industrial complex in Alvarado, Texas. The automated facility provides full scale structure testing on lattice towers and tubular steel poles used in the electric transmission sector.

Sabre/Brametal Testing Services software allows for simulated loads that are automatically applied. The facility offers both destructive and non-destructive testing, and has the ability to test towers up to 235′ high and 85′ wide at the base, and poles up to 235′ high and 12.5′ wide.

Brametal is a unit of Hollmore Participacoes E Investimentos S.A, a Brazilian company with experience in engineering, design and testing of lattice transmission towers.
