Utility industry veteran Mayben rejoins R. W. Beck, Inc.


PHOENIX, ARIZ., March 20, 2003 — William R. “Bill” Mayben has re-joined management consulting and engineering firm R. W. Beck, Inc. as an executive consultant for the Management Consulting Services Group in the Phoenix, Ariz. office.

In his new position, Mayben will use his vast experience in the power industry, including his pivotal public power role in setting up a regional power transmission organization in the Midwest, to assist public power electric systems as well as offer testimony, when needed, about the power industry.

Mayben has 40 years of experience in the utility industry, and previously served as the President and CEO of the Nebraska Public Power District (NPPD) of Columbus, Neb., since Nov. 1, 1995, through his retirement in December 2002. The NPPD, working in partnership with rural public power districts, cooperatives and municipalities, provides an estimated 800,000 residents of Nebraska with retail or wholesale power and energy-related products and services.

Prior to his leadership role with the NPPD, Mayben spent more than 30 years with R. W. Beck where he served in several positions, including as Managing Partner and CEO from 1987-1995, when the firm was known as R. W. Beck and Associates.

Mayben holds a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Colorado in Boulder, Co.
