The ten-year agreement is customized to align with PGE’s requirements to provide high availability and reliability of prime mover performance, long-term planning, performance guarantees and a pre-defined scope of maintenance services.
The service agreement also includes planning and management of scheduled outages, continuous monitoring and feedback of plant data and the flexibility to adjust maintenance based on operating conditions.
The Port Westward Unit 2 plant is being built for PGE, an investor-owned utility. It will be powered by 12 Wärtsilä 50SG natural gas fuelled engines with an electrical output of about 220 MW, and is scheduled to be fully operational in 2015.
PGE serves about 830,000 retail customers with a mix of residential, commercial, and industrial activities.
